Still no response from HP - possibly because it's the weekend - I'll give them a couple of days - I can't find anything in any of my documentation about how to contact them - it's ridiculous - I looked at their map of where the nearest service centre is and the map is completely inaccurate , so still none the wiser

Hi @Jay-B1
It would help if you identified your notebook with its product number or complete product name.
Press the power button from the notebook's OFF state and then immediately tap the F2 key to invoke the system information dialogue.
You will find the identifying information that I requested in the information list there. Kindly post it here in your next reply to your thread.
When you plug in the power adapter, does the power/charge led light up?
Is the pin inside the power adapter connector broken or missing?
Have you tried running the HP Diagnostic tests for battery and power?
I am a firm believer in troubleshooting.

Hi, thank you for your reply. My laptop is HP Pavilion 15-eh0007na Laptop - AMD Ryzen™ 3 purchased in July this year from HP.
There is no light on the charger ( no light to light up if that makes sense - it's the charger that came with the laptop when I bought it.)
I can't see a pin inside the adaptor connector but it hasn't been misused or damaged.
I have tried running the HP battery/power test and it showed the battery was fine but said there is a problem with the adaptor.
Many thanks

Hi,
Ok and thank you. The led is on the notebook itself. Very few HP notebook power adapters have leds on the adapter itself.
If the led on the laptop is not lit then the adapter has failed. Thanks for answering the troubleshooting questions. I have notified a moderator to help with connecting you to a warranty service representative.

Thank you for your reply but no - this does not help and does not answer my problem - my adaptor is not working at all - it is nothing to do with high ambient temperatures and is not turning on and off - it is not working at all - it is not charging my laptop - it has stopped working altogether. If you could read the thread please you will see that my laptop is only 6 months old, is under warranty and the charger has failed. I want to know how to get a replacement under the warranty as I have been unable to find anywhere on the HP website that tells me that - it just continually takes me in a loop which tell me absolutely nothing, Some other of the very kind community members have tried to help but so far I have had no constructive help from HP. Many thank, Jay
